a grey day in Melbourne, taking the girls to a life-depleting concrete jungle (shopping centre), where waiting in the car for two hours seemed more bearable than going in. we visited Dad in the hospital afterward, bringing slippers a size too small.





vacuity: empty space; emptiness.
with rare exception, I find these concrete and steel cathedrals of consumerism full of emptiness. this ‘vacuous’ style of photography tries to reveal this, and perhaps more; soul-stealing coldness. the sterile feel of hospitals are similar, but more final.
