From 10am to 2pm each Sunday, join me in the slow work of becoming.
Alone or with others; quietly or creatively; at home or out in the world. This is an experiment in ecclesiology — a shared rhythm, not a prescribed programme.
Less may be more. Take what helps, then leave the rest behind.

The scriptures as central
A small, self-directed liturgy for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost. Start with scripture; employ reason, draw from tradition, and incorporate experience to interpret, attend, and respond.

Share a simple meal with someone, or prepare food for a person who may need the care more than the conversation.

A collection for the poor
Whom might I love materially this week?
Care for those in material need runs through the very fibres of scripture. Consider selling things you don’t need to give money to the poor, and give directly when that is safe and respectful.

Choose lightly. One practice may be enough. Being is not escape, knowing is not status, and doing is not the measure of your worth.

How we hope to connect with one another
We seek to keep Christ at the centre, and meet each other there. Finding the right balance in engaging with Scripture and enquiry, ancient wisdom and fresh experiences, hope and humility, solitude and community.
- We listen to understand, not to respond
- We welcome honest questions and remain capable of changing our minds.
- We practise Christlike love across real difference.
- We use power carefully and protect vulnerable people.
- We respect privacy and refuse coercion or dehumanisation.
- We value love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control above attention or growth metrics.
We will not perfect this. We would like to keep learning how to live among people in this way, however.

- Switch on Do Not Disturb.
- Tell people who need to reach you how.

Switch off
- Unnecessary notifications
- The idea of doing it ‘correctly’
- Pressure to consume/engage with every resource
- The screen, when it has finished helping

Real lives belong here
Everyone is welcome
Children, friends, family, and those for whom we are responsible are not distractions from spiritual practice, but a part of it. Look to love and include them through shared food, play, walking, making art, rest, prayer or listening.
Individual practice will necessarily look different. But feel free to move between solitude and connection when possible; some responsibilities will occupy more of the time than others. There is no ideal arrangement and no expectations to fail.
